"... A curtain raiser not to be missed."
The British Shooting & Countryman Show – or BSS as it's now become known to everyone – is the perfect 'opening-day weekend' for the new year's show season. And from the airgun shooter's perspective, it's a curtain raiser not to be missed, when the trade gets its first chance to exhibit its new season's offerings to the general shooting public for the very first time.
Its indoor venue means there's never any concern about weather, and its undercover facilities are welcomed both by exhibitors and showgoers, who rarely have the opportunity to browse in comfortable avenues of wall-to-wall shooting gear, much of which they can sample for themselves on the outdoor ranges from the luxury of indoor firing points.
The show has become established as 'The Big One' for good reason – and its brand new location Stoneleigh, in the middle of the country will, I'm sure, become as permanent a venue for the organisers as the show itself has already become for airgun shooters keen to see and sample what lies in the year ahead.
