BASC Go Shooting
GoShooting was a project started by BASC way back in 2005, initially as a away of helping BASC affiliated clubs and syndicates fill their vacancies and at the same time helping exiting members find a shooting opportunity.
Over the years the BASC GoShooting project has stuck to its principles, of BASC members helping other BASC members to find shooting.
Go Shooting At The British Shooting Show 2014
Today on the BASC GoShooting web site you will find on offer from BASC clubs and syndicates:

You can also find deer stalking opportunities through the BASC stalking scheme and wildfowling opportunities with the Wildfowling permit scheme.
BASC trade member Sporting Agents are listed with all their contact details to fill in any gaps you may have in your sporting calendar, all you have ot do is get in touch with them.
Fancy a trip overseas? Again BASC trade members who operate safaris are on the site to help you.
We cater for clay shooters too, with many small clay clubs listed who are open to new members and or young shooters. Most of these clubs run on a much more informal basis than the local clay ground, and will welcome you with open arms.
And of course, if simulated game shooting is something that you fancy having a go at then there are loads of opportunities on the site.
Of course we can also help if you want the clays and traps to come to you! Yes, if you have the land we have the coaches and the equipment to come to you. From a single trap for a bit of practice, to a multi trap system to test out a potential new 'drive' or the full Monty of a simulated game day, the BASC coaching team can help you.
So come along to the BASC pavilion to see the range of opportunities on offer!
In the meantime please visit the BASC GoShooting website -

BASC Taste Of Game At The British Shooting Show 2014
BASC Taste of Game
Game has always been consumed in great quantities by those who shoot and fish, but with the move away from traditional butchers a whole generation (or two!) have grown up without seeing game and poultry hanging in the feather or fur in the local butchers shop.
Together with the move towards pre-prepared food this meant that many have missed out on the delicious range of game-based dishes that their patents and grandparents would have known.
It seems a shame that so much of the game shot in the UK was being whisked overseas for the French and other to enjoy and the great British public were missing out.

So, back in 1995, BASC formed 'The Campaign for Game" - an ambitious project to promote the eating of game to a much wider audience: the general public.
Over the years this has evolved into BASC's Game's On project that took branded game products into the supermarket arena, as well as into many pubs and restaurants.
In 2011 this changed again, becoming the BASC Taste of Game which brings together pubs, restaurants, regional food groups, game dealers and farmers markets.

Supported by some of the UK's top chefs who supply the Taste of Game with simple recipes for every type of game there is.
On the taste of game website – www.basctasteofgame.org.uk/ you can find everything from where to buy game, how to prepare game and most importantly how to cook game.
Throughout the year there are Taste of Game events and suppers around the UK where anyone can go along and try game for the first time or try some game they have never had the chance to try before, prepared by an experience chef.
Since 1995 when BASC launched the Campaign for Game, the consumption of game has shot up in the UK, helped by others promoting game through butchers and other local suppliers and game meat has continued to grow in popularity.

However one thing was holding it back, due to laws from the 1800's it was illegal to sell game outside the game season. This all changed in 2007 (England & Wales) when after many years of lobbying by BASC the ancient game laws were changed to allow all game meat and game meat products to be sold all year round
We have come a long way since 1995 and now see game sales at an all time high in the UK.
So come along to the BASC pavilion for our live game cooking demonstrations and of free tasty game offerings!
Please visit our Taste of Game website for more information and recipes etc...
There's only ONE Great British Shooting Show and it gets bigger and better every year!
